There are many versions of Monopoly. Monopoly is derived from The Landlord's Game, which was created by Elizabeth Magie in the United States in 1903. Monopoly has been a classic board game for over 100 years. The game objective is to remain financially solvent while forcing opponents into bankruptcy by trading i.e. buying, selling, and developing pieces of property. Monopoly Free is a real-estate board game for two to four players. The board consists of 40 spaces containing twenty-eight properties: (twenty-two streets (grouped into eight color groups), four railroads, and two utilities), three Chance spaces, three Community Chest spaces, a Luxury Tax space, an Income Tax space, and the four corner squares: GO, (In) Jail/Just Visiting, Free Parking, and Go to Jail. At the start of the game, each player is given a fixed amount of play money; the player then moves around the board according to the throw of a pair of dice. Any player who lands on an unowned property may buy it, but, if he or she lands on a property owned by another player, rent must be paid to that player. If a player acquires a monopoly- that is, If a player owns all the spaces within a color group, he may then build or develop equal houses and hotels on these spaces, generating even more income from opponents who land there must pay that player rent according to the value of the land and any buildings on it. A player continues to travel around the board until he or she is bankrupt. Bankruptcy results in elimination from the game. The last player remaining on the board is the winner.
